Frankly, the rumours of Aishwarya Rai’s comeback film have been one too many and by now we’re sure everyone has learnt to take the talk of her return to films with a pinch of salt. According to latest reports, the actress has been approached by director Sriram Raghavan for his next thriller to be produced by Ramesh Taurani.
“Nothing is finalised yet, but Sriram Raghavan has reached out to Aishwarya and Varun. Neither of them want to talk about it yet, since things are at an initial stage,” a trade insider is quoted as saying by HT.
According to the report, Sriram Raghavan and Varun Dhawan have been meeting over the last couple of weeks to discuss the project and Varun is very much interested since he’s a fan of Raghavan’s film.
Raghavan has so far made films like Ek Haseena Thi, Johnny Gaddaar and Agent Vinod.
Buzz has it that the new film will roll by the end of this year. Ramesh Taurani has confirmed signing Sriram Raghavan for the project, but refused to confirm the film’s cast.
Aishwarya Rai has been away from films since her pregnancy and the birth of Aaradhya Bachchan in November 2011. She was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish in 2010. Since the last few months, there have been rumours that she’s been approached by the likes of Bhansali, Karan Johar, Rajkumar Santoshi and even Mani Ratnam for her comeback film. However, no project has materialized yet. Will Raghavan’s one be the one to get her nod? We’ll wait and watch.
